Venessa Paech is an internationally regarded community builder, manager and strategist.
She has been engaged by numerous organisations as a community principal, consultant and strategist, including Lonely Planet, REA Group, Envato and Australia Post.
In 2009 Venessa founded the Australian Community Manager Roundtable which in 2011 became Swarm, Australia’s premiere conference for community practitioners.
She co-founded the Australian Community Managers network (ACM), which hosts a 5000+ Facebook group, produces the annual ACM Career Survey for Australian community managers, and developed the national Community Management Code of Ethics with Alison Michalk and Fiona Martin.
Venessa is a founding member of the Global Community Management Leadership Group (with fellow community leaders from five nations), and works closely with industry, government and researchers to grow community management practice in APAC.
Venessa developed and taught the first tertiary online community management unit at the University of Sydney in Jan 2019. She is a published academic, currently focused on automation, AI, and online communities.
